I'm Jerod, and my journey in cybersecurity has been nothing short of an adventure. For the last decade plus, I've been immersed in the world of cybersecurity, starting with the Department of Defense. Think of me as a cybersecurity storyteller, weaving narratives of threats, defenses, and the constant battle to stay one step ahead.
My passion is diving deep into complex challenges and building robust cybersecurity defenses. I specialize in leading red team engagements, penetration tests, vulnerability assessments, and cybersecurity compliance audits. You could say I have a knack for thinking like the adversary. My passion lies in replicating adversarial tactics, techniques, and procedures.
My career has taken me through various exciting roles such as a Senior Red Team Engineer at Millennium Corp, where I orchestrate advanced attack scenarios and lead the Pathfinder summer cybersecurity internship, teaching college students penetration testing and red team methodologies.
Before that, I worked as a Red Team Lead where I directed and mentored a highly specialized team of cybersecurity professionals. In this role, I designed and executing targeted attack scenarios that simulated real-world threats, helping to identify and strengthen security vulnerabilities across federal systems and infrastructure. My team provided insights that directly influenced security policy and defensive strategies.
I also worked as a Cybersecurity Manager where I developed and implementing security compliance programs. In this role, I led teams that conducted penetration testing and vulnerability assessments, identifying security gaps, and developed strategic solutions.
Along the way, I've armed myself with knowledge, earning an M.B.A. from the New York Institute of Technology. I also have certifications OSCP, OWSP, CRTO, CEH, RTAC, RTJC, Security+, CySA+, Linux+, PMP, eCPPT, and CISSP. I consider myself a lifelong learner, always seeking to expand my understanding of the ever-evolving cyber landscape.
When I'm not immersed in cybersecurity, you'll find me on the trails pushing my limits or in my garage—my personal CrossFit gym. These pursuits fuel my passion for cybersecurity and provide a balanced approach to life.
